BW-250 Borehole Logging Winch
The BW-250 is a field portable, borehole geophysical logging winch. It is designed for borehole depth up to 250 m. The basic construction consists of two side plates joined together with aluminum posts at each corner. This is the support for the cable drum and the level wind. An optional motor drive and controller necessitates a third plate and extension posts with a corresponding increase in width. Both models come with a detachable crank handle for manual operation.
The optional drive is a 1/4Hp DC motor with a 25:1 gearbox. The gearbox has a worn gear that prevents run away when logging in the down direction and when stationary. In addition, the winch is equipped with a one-way ratchet. The ratchet can be engaged to prevent the winch from going downwards.
A Speed controller provides accurate speed control from the standard 0.3 to 24 m/min. this configuration has a lifting power of more than 50 kg. For heavier loads, a 0.5 Hp motor is also available.
The BW-250 is equipped with a level wind that is designed for 6mm cable. The electrical connection is made a 4-conductor slip ring, which is totally sealed inside the drum for protection from the environment.
